Ruth Hogben is widely recognized for her sharp focus and strong technical prowess. She assisted Nick Knight between 2005 – February 2009, both as his first photographic assistant and editor of his fashion films. Hogben has continued to collaborate with Knight on numerous projects as well as with Gareth Pugh, Rick Owens, Katie Grand, KT Shillingford and for brands such as Louis Vuitton, Barneys, Mac Cosmetics and Selfridges.
Hogben has worked closely with Lady Gaga for over a decade at the helm of the singer’s creative direction—overseeing tour visuals and performances including the Grammy Awards, the Oscars, the AMAs and the Superbowl. She created content celebrating Alexander McQueen’s work for the Savage Beauty exhibition at the MET and the V&A. Hogben also created video content for the MET’s PUNK: CHAOS TO CULTURE exhibit and has directed music videos for Prince and Kanye West.
